Frequently Asked Questions
Why doesn’t the Independent Contractor Agreement include wages?
To avoid misinterpretation, there are several reasons why the Independent Contractor Agreement does not include the Tutor’s wage:
- Defined under Compensation: “For Services rendered under this Agreement, the Company shall pay the Contractor an hourly fee (the “Fee”). The amount of the Fee shall depend on which Client the Contractor is providing Services to and may be different for each Client. The Fee shall be agreed to between the Parties prior to the commencement of Services to each Client. “
- The wage varies depending on the type of lesson: General Conversation, Business English or IELTS Prep.
- The wage varies depending on the Tutor’s ESL education and experience.
- The wage varies depending on the duration of the lessons. Lessons are not always 60 minutes long. Often times students prefer 45 or even 30 minute lessons.
When will I know what my wage will be?
Prior to teaching lessons to students of our partnering clients, FLUENCY TUTORS meets with the Tutor to discuss and agree upon the wage.
